Leo District 404A2, Nigeria, joined other delegates from Cross River State virtually via Zoom for the historic first-ever South-South Regional Local Conference of Youth (LCOY Nigeria) on Climate Justice.
?The 2025 edition, themed “Youth at the Forefront of Climate Justice: Accelerating Action for a Just Transition,” was organized by the Clement Isong Foundation in collaboration with ActionAid Nigeria, and in partnership with LCOY Nigeria, YOUNGO, and other youth organizations. The conference brought together youth leaders, innovators, and policymakers to shape actionable solutions for a just transition.
?Held as a hybrid event on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, the conference provided an inspiring platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration on youth-led climate action and sustainability. Representing Leo District 404A2, Leo David George (Mr. Leo 2025/2026 - Leo District 404A2, Nigeria) reaffirmed the District’s readiness and commitment to lend a hand with other youth-led platforms across the South-South region in building a more inclusive, sustainable, and climate-resilient society ahead of COP30 and beyond.
?Overall, the conference succeeded in strengthening regional collaboration and amplifying youth voices within the climate justice space.
