calabar paradise leo club investiture - service, sight, and a spark of fun

On Friday, October 3rd, 2025, the Municipal Tent in Calabar was nothing short of electric as the Calabar Paradise Leo Club rolled out the drums for its grand investiture ceremony. It was a night of cheer, and service-driven glamour as the gavel of leadership smoothly transitioned from the elegant Leo Elizabeth Okete LAH to the vibrant and dynamic Leo Theresa Efiom, the newly installed president.

The evening wasn’t just about swapping titles and duties. It was about raising banners of hope. The highlight of the event centered around the Club’s Core Project on Vision: the fundraising drive to donate a Complete Vision Screening Set, comprising of trial lens set, trial frame, Jackson cross cylinder lens, pen torch, reading charts and Snellen distant letter charts. This life-changing equipment is earmarked for the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, where it promises to make clearer sight a reality for many.

The hall was filled to the brim with Lions, Leos, family, friends, and die-hard knights of service, both present and in diaspora, sending their love and donations from across the seas. It was proof that when service calls, PARADISE answers. The atmosphere blended formal elegance with bursts of humor, warm handshakes, and spontaneous pledges, perfectly fitting for a vision-themed fundraiser.

Donations poured in generously, a testament to the community’s belief in the Club’s mission. From emotional goodwill messages to light-hearted moments on stage, the event embodied the Leo spirit, youthful, selfless, and absolutely unstoppable.

As Leo Theresa Efiom takes the wheel for the 2025/2026 Lions Service Year, one thing is crystal clear: Paradise is not just a club name, it’s an attitude, a movement, building impact, one service project at a time, and this team is ready to make vision, service, and impact not just projects, but legacies.
